Lyon, Technician Assistant

I’ve been living in Oregon since I was just 2 years old. Even from a young age,  I’ve had a deep love for animals. One of my earliest and fondest memories is watching Bambi, which quickly became one of my favorite movies as a child, largely because of the connection I felt with the animal characters.

Five years ago, I experienced the heartbreaking loss of my beloved bearded dragon, Silky. That moment was pivotal for me—it pushed me to truly reflect on my love for animals and ultimately helped me realize the path I wanted to follow moving forward.

After high school I attended Mt. Hood Community College for a bit until I switched to the Veterinary Assisting program at Carrington College, including an externship at Gresham Animal Hospital.

What I love most about Fern Hill is it feels like a family. From the moment I started here, I noticed that everyone, from the staff to the doctors, fosters an environment of care and support. It’s not just about coming to work and doing a job—it’s about being part of a team where people truly look out for one another. This level of care and dedication is something that really stands out to me and is a huge part of what makes Fern Hill such a special place to work. I can confidently say that I see myself working at Fern Hill for many years to come.
