Ollie

From Ollie’s Owner:

"I've been a client at Fern Hill for a little over a year now. Ollie is  a sweet older tabby I adopted from Oregon Humane Society. He's a total lovebug and easy going cat...  but only with me. Introduce other living beings into the equation and he becomes a territorial bully and something of a nightmare! A real Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He also tends to forget that he's 14yrs old and while his claws are nice and sharp, he's only got a few teeth left.  As you can imagine, his "fierce protectiveness" (aka feline dreams of world domination) have landed him in more than a few fights. Sadly, he didn't come out of these fights glowing and victorious. More like limping, upset and injured.

Enter the wonderful staff at Fern Hill! Ollie has had several visits. Most recently, he had a very bad bite wound to his hind leg, could not walk on it and was in a lot of pain. I called the office and explained the situation. Despite being fully booked, I was told to bring him down (same day!) for a drop off appointment. I brought him in, fully expecting to have a technician take him and wait for a call. Instead, we went into a room, he had a thorough exam with one of the doctors, we discussed possible scenarios and treatment. I did leave him there, but within a couple of hours had a call from the doctor to update me on how Ollie was doing and give the good news that his leg, while badly injured, was not broken. The wound was cleaned out and he was put on a dose of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory pain medications. He was ready to be picked up and head home.

The wound healed up nicely and within a few days he was walking on the leg again.

I am always very grateful for the kind service and expert care of the staff and doctors. Ollie's had dental surgery, emergency appointments and regular health check-ups. Every visit has been handled well, with good care for my boy and clear, helpful information for me. Plus there's always great follow up during and after treatments to make sure he's doing well. Truly, thank you all for being such a great office!"
